Chapter 8 Summary: Basics of Electromagnetic Fields This chapter describes electromagnetic fields in relation to transmission lines, beginning with the electric and magnetic fields that comprise an electromagnetic field. The reader will also learn more about the relationship between electromagnetic fields and current – that current flow is induced by electromagnetic fields, not vice versa. Understanding electromagnetic fields will help designers and engineers deal with EMI, or electromagnetic interference.
