Chapter 14 Summary: Fundamentals of Transmission Lines Now the fun really begins. While the previous three chapters detail the three parasitic elements that can affect transmission lines, Chapter 14 explains how a transmission line can be represented with a simple schematic that takes into account inductance, capacitance and resistance. Single-ended lines are explained, as well as the non-existent perfect transmission line. The reader will learn exactly what an electromagnetic field “sees” that could impede its flow of energy as it travels down a transmission line.
