Chapter 22 Summary: Stubs on Transmission Lines
Stubs off the main line of a signal path can cause waveform reversals. This chapter investigates what happens when a sine wave of frequency is introduced into an unterminated transmission line at a quarter wavelength, and discusses the need to determine the frequency content of all the switching edges traveling on the transmission line to guarantee that stubs donâ€™t adversely affect the switching edges. Readers will learn why approximate calculations will work when determining first-order harmonics, but more precise calculations require use of a Fourier Transform
